Owl- pen ,watercolor and graphite pencils

My sister Dagmar is one of my biggest supporters of my blogs, she never misses making a comment on one of my new posts.
She has a beautiful granddaughter named Claire, who loves owls . So yesterday I thought I would paint one in my journal so that Dagmar could pass this photo along to her.

Who's owl especially for Claire !!!

Chucky our squirrel

We had a squirrel last summer that lived in our woodshed. My husband Larry named him Chucky, he was very entertaining. He could go from the woodshed at the back of the house to the front of the house where the birdfeeders are without his feet ever touching the ground. He had a route that went along the fence on to a big tree and then on to a branch that went right in to the feeder. He would then sit in the feeder and chatter at the dogs almost like he was laughing at them.
What a cheeky little guy or gal!!!

Still playing in my journal

Pen and water soluable graphite pencils

I love the soft earth toned colors that you can get using these pencils. Each time I do one of these little drawings I learn something new. The most important thing is..... you can't erase ink ,
so I have to be a little less heavy handed and try not to over work the piece.Scribbling is just so much fun!!!

More scribbles and doodles!

Pen ,pencil and colored graphite
I am enjoying my new pencils and doing quick little drawings.I think I will try to fill my journal with lots of little forest creatures. There are things I would change on this little guy but the best part is ,it is just a piece of paper. More bunny doodles and playing with some new pens that my friend Joan lent me to try.

Cabin opening

I have had a lot of fun decorating the outside of the studio for our up and coming sale
on Dec 5th and the 6th from 10 am to 4 pm.As you can see I had my faithful companion Hope helping me....what a lazy dog!!

The best part of decorating the outside of the cabin and the house is Larry and I going out in the bush with the dogs armed with the pruners and collecting all the different kinds of boughs, cones and berries. It just gets you into the Christmas spirit!!!

We open the cabin once a year, bringing together other artists to showcase local talent.

We will have artwork, pottery, art cards, metal work ,canning ,walking sticks and lots of other great gift ideas for Christmas.

If you are in the area please stop by and check out what great talent we have in this small
Thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you at the Christmas sale.

Wolf on stone

This was a fun painting to do...allowing the stone to shine through as part of the wolf 's  muzzle.I like to leave as much of the texture of the rock showing as possible and try to make it part of the painting.

The wedding party, My daughter Kari ,her fiance Rob and our sweet little granddaughter Myla
my nephew Ian and of course our other beautiful granddaughters Jaina and Kharys

My son Troy and his beautiful bride Amanda got married on saturday.  The rain held off and the weather turned out perfect.   Amanda's little girls Jaina and Kharys looked like angels.  Their grandmother Joan made the dresses for the girls and also one for Myla. They were adorable.

It was a wonderful day spent visiting with family and friends. A huge thank-you to Amanda's parents Gary and Joan for hosting the wedding at their home. Thanks to everyone else that helped with the wedding and a special thank-you to my two sisters Dagmar and Evelyne for helping with all the food and the flowers.

I hope this new family is enjoying their honey moon in Yellowstone National Park.
Say hi to yogi the bear from me.
