Hang in there Baby!

I love painting on these burls , each one is so different and it is fun trying to find a subject that suits the piece of wood. I also finally finished off the little saw-whet owl that I have had tucked away forever.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

Grand Slam painting on a burl

A friend asked me to paint him a picture of his grand slam which is a rocky mountain bighorn , a stone sheep , a dall sheep   and a desert ram. My brother- in- law Richard gave me this beautiful yellow cedar burl  to paint it on . Bob will see it tomorrow for the first time, I sure hope he likes it?

Owl- pen ,watercolor and graphite pencils

My sister Dagmar is one of my biggest supporters of my blogs, she never misses making a comment on one of my new posts.
She has a beautiful granddaughter named Claire, who loves owls . So yesterday I thought I would paint one in my journal so that Dagmar could pass this photo along to her.

Who's there...an owl especially for Claire !!!

Chucky our squirrel

We had a squirrel last summer that lived in our woodshed. My husband Larry named him Chucky, he was very entertaining. He could go from the woodshed at the back of the house to the front of the house where the birdfeeders are without his feet ever touching the ground. He had a route that went along the fence on to a big tree and then on to a branch that went right in to the feeder. He would then sit in the feeder and chatter at the dogs almost like he was laughing at them.
What a cheeky little guy or gal!!!

Still playing in my journal

Pen and water soluable graphite pencils

I love the soft earth toned colors that you can get using these pencils. Each time I do one of these little drawings I learn something new. The most important thing is..... you can't erase ink ,
so I have to be a little less heavy handed and try not to over work the piece.Scribbling is just so much fun!!!

More scribbles and doodles!

Pen ,pencil and colored graphite

I am enjoying my new pencils and doing quick little drawings.I think I will try to fill my journal with lots of little forest creatures. There are things I would change on this little guy but the best part is ,it is just a piece of paper. More bunny doodles and playing with some new pens that my friend Joan lent me to try.
